USG are the inventors of Plasterboard. Since 1902, they have constantly developed and improved plasterboard, and plasterboard finishing compounds. The Sheetrock brand offers a range of excellent quality basecoats, tapes and topping compounds. USG products are well known for their LIGHT WEIGHT features. Reducing the amount of weight that contractors have to deal with on worksites was the motivation towards light weight products. The reduction in physical handling of material on jobsites was done in order to reduce injury and other issues associated with trades people carrying heavy compounds on a daily basis. For this reason, bags of USG basecoats that weigh only 16kg will provide the same sort of coverage as 20kg bags of competing products. SHEETROCK PLUS 3 topping compound is know not only for its ease of use, but also for the fact that it comes in a pail size of 17 litres (compared to most brands being 15 litres) yet being lighter to handle.
We supply both paper and fibreglass joint tape. USG papertape is a NON PERFERATED product that will provide a superior performance to older technology tapes. USG fibreglass tape is also different, in that the individual strands of tape allow compounds to penetrate (once wet) to achieve a stronger joint.
